THE PARTY IN FORT WORTH is an annual event benefiting the Fort Worth Promotion & Development Fund. The Fund, which is Chaired by the Mayor and governed by a 13 member Board, invests funds to promote our city before regional, national and international cultural, business, sports and governmental organizations.  The Fund also provides resources for the development of local events, attractions and exhibits that enhance Fort Worth’s ability to recruit business and leisure visitors. The Party in Fort Worth is the signature fundraising event for the Fort Worth Promotion & Development Fund, which has an annual budget of approximately $350,000.

THE FUND: GRANT MAKING GUIDELINES & INFORMATION

The following guidelines are currently used in determining which requests for funding will be approved by the board of the Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund.

UNIQUE PROJECTS: One-time, unique projects, events, visits and other activities that foster the development of Fort Worth and/or which promote the community to other regions of the country or world and which are not otherwise funded will be considered for funding. Organizations that receive regular funding for their events or projects, whatever the source of those funds are, will not be eligible for Promotion and Development Fund money.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Unique economic development activities, which are not part of existing or new organizations’ ongoing economic development responsibilities, will be considered for funding. The economic development activities can include special projects, activities, marketing efforts and travel. Economic development activities that are related to or support normal responsibilities of an organization are not eligible. Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund monies cannot be used as “start-up” funding for a new, permanent organization.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES: Unique international activities, which are not a part of existing or new organizations’ ongoing international activities, will be considered for funding. The international activities which will be considered for funding are one-time, unique projects and events which have broad community interest and potential benefit, as well as those that stimulate cultural, educational, tourist and business opportunities for residents of Fort Worth.

HOST ACTIVITIES: Unusual and significant host activities are eligible for funding. Host activities that are eligible include visits by foreign leaders, mayors, business leaders, entertainers and others who have ability to influence opinion about Fort Worth. Visits by Fort Worth community leaders to similar individuals or countries to influence opinion about Fort Worth may be considered. The Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund also will consider funding appropriate host activities and gifts.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Community awareness campaigns designed to elevate the awareness of Fort Worth at a national and/or international level will be considered for funding. Awareness campaigns must be of a broad nature and cannot promote individual businesses, attractions or other activities in a manner similar to product or service marketing.
